We had a fantastic August, mostly spent at home in Carrboro. You can see he's finally gotten a little chubby! We love it.

Watching Nikhil's development is still fairly amazing to us. He started sleeping on his stomach this month, which initially inspired a bit of fear in me. Let's just say there was a lot of checking his breathing those first few nights. He does sleep much better that way, and he is very capable of rolling back and forth and moving his head, so the risk of SIDS is greatly reduced. He is making it through the night without a feeding, though he does still wake up a bit. Getting six hours of sleep straight makes one feel pretty fabulous!

We started childcare a few days a week, with a nanny coming to our house. It has been great to have some time to work, though I have mixed emotions about being away from him. Nikhil seems to rather enjoy himself. He is "creeping" a bit - he can inch forward if he really wants to. He hasn't quite figured out rolling - I haven't seen him do more than one or two consecutively, which we have decided is not the worst thing in the world! =)

Next up...solids and sitting!
